Agreement
By creating an account or using Studious, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who can use Studious
Studious is built primarily for college and university students. You must be old enough under the laws of your jurisdiction to enter into a binding agreement to use Studious.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
Responsible use and recording permission
Studious is designed to be used only where recording is permitted. You are responsible for complying with your school's policies, your professor's rules, and any applicable laws about recording.
Do not use Studious to record people without the permissions required in your context. The responsibility for getting permission is yours, not ours.
Academic integrity
Studious is a study tool, not a shortcut. It is meant to help you understand what was covered in class, build Course Memory across the semester, and prepare for exams.
Do not use Studious to cheat, plagiarize, or produce work you submit as your own without doing the underlying learning. Follow your school's academic integrity policies.
Your content
You own the materials you upload, record, or paste into Studious. By using the service, you grant Studious a limited, worldwide license to host, process, and transform your content for the sole purpose of providing the service to you (for example, generating Class Notes, Course Memory, and Exam Prep).
You can delete your content from within Studious at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Studious to:
- Upload or record content you do not have the right to use.
- Record where recording is prohibited.
- Violate any law or third party rights.
- Attempt to break, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
- Harass other users or misuse sharing features.
We may suspend or remove content or accounts that violate these rules.
Subscriptions and billing
Some Studious features are available on paid plans. Pricing and plan details are described on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account.
Refunds, if any, follow the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
Service availability
Studious is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always accessible. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves.
Disclaimers and liability
Studious uses AI to generate Class Notes, Course Memory, and Exam Prep. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate. You should verify important information against your original source materials before relying on it for an exam, essay, or other graded work.
To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, Studious and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from within Studious. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, misuse the service, or use Studious in a way that creates legal or safety risks.
On termination, your right to use Studious ends. We will delete your data according to the retention rules in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province in which Studious is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Studious after changes means you accept the new terms.
